Journal of Translation Studies and Linguistics published under the aegis of:
∇ Dunarea de Jos University. Faculty of Letters – Department of English
∇ Research Centre Interface Research of the Original and Translated Text. Cognitive and Communicative Dimensions of the Message
∇ Doctoral School of Socio-Humanities

The journal is intended to provide an academic forum for productive discussion involving professional and would-be translators, academics, teachers, master and PhD students who are interested in disseminating the results of their research work. It includes articles by specialists from partner universities, doctoral schools and academic research centres, as well as relevant work authored by the members of our own academic staff. A book review section is added to round up the collection. The selection of papers actually reflects the format and the objectives of the long-established tradition of translation research carried out in the Department of English, Faculty of Letters, “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galati.

The name of the review was granted by the international conference on translation studies hosted by the Faculty of Letters, Dunărea de Jos University of Galați, starting with October 2006. The growing number of participants in the 2008 edition and their diverse scientific interests made the organizing committee decide that the journal should be published in three issues: the first includes articles focusing on literary topics and foreign language teaching, the second contains papers in the field of language and culture studies and the third consists of contributions in the field of translation studies. Submitted papers have always been considered for publication only after being peer reviewed

The last three issues, that is 13, 14 and 15 came out in 2012 and, like the previous volumes, were published under the aegis of the Faculty of Letters – The Department of English and of The Research Centre Interface Research of the Original and Translated Text. Cognitive and Communicative Dimensions of the Message. Starting with 2013, the review has taken the form of one volume per year, mainly focusing on academic contributions on translation studies proper. It also extensively benefits from the support of the Doctoral School of Humanities and Social-Sciences which has recently been founded in the “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galați.
